The holiday season brings the most demanding cooking days of the year. Ensuring your appliances are ready prevents disasters during important family gatherings.
Start with your oven. Run a calibration check by placing an oven thermometer inside and comparing it to the set temperature. Adjust calibration if necessary.
If you haven't run the self-cleaning cycle recently, do it at least two weeks before major cooking events. This provides time to address any issues the cycle might reveal.
Check all burners on your range. Ensure even flame patterns and consistent ignition. Clean burner ports if flames appear uneven or yellow.
Test your refrigerator's capacity by checking temperature recovery after opening the door. If temperatures take longer than usual to recover, schedule a service call.
Clean and inspect your dishwasher, which will work overtime during holiday entertaining. Clear the filter, clean the spray arms, and run a hot cycle with dishwasher cleaner.
Verify that ice maker production meets your expected needs. Increase production levels if your model allows, and consider having backup ice ready.
Check that all small appliances you'll need are in working order. Mixers, food processors, and specialty items often sit unused between holidays and may need attention.
Create space in refrigerators and freezers by decluttering before holiday grocery shopping begins. This also helps with air circulation and cooling efficiency.
Have our number ready in case of emergencies. We offer holiday and weekend service for urgent situations.
